ASSEMBLY MATERIALS
CUSHION AND SPACERS: 3M™ BUMPON™ SJ5302A protective products are self-adhesive rubber bumpers designed to be used as feet, spacers, or stops, as well as to effectively absorb noise and impact.
Their hemispherical shape provides optimal sound dampening and shock absorption. The rollstock format is excellent for die-cut shapes with varying thickness requirements.
These bumpers are easy to apply thanks to 3M pressure-sensitive adhesives, without cracking or hardening over time. Additionally, they help reduce vibration and noise in small appliances, furniture, and electronic devices.
LAPPING AND POLISHING FILMS: Precisely graded diamond particles coated onto a polyester film. This enables consistent and repeatable finishes even on very hard materials.
A more durable resin system enhances the product’s strength and longevity.
Primarily used for superfinishing, roll polishing, and flat lapping applications.
POLYIMIDE ELECTRICAL TAPES: Developed for high-temperature environments, these tapes are suitable for electronic applications. The silicone-free adhesive withstands short exposures to temperatures typical of solder mask processes, while ensuring clean removal without residue, helping to minimize contamination risks. Made from polyimide film with a silicone adhesive, they offer flame resistance, low outgassing, and excellent surface protection, reducing the need for rework and maximizing productivity.
PCB TAPES: 0.02 mm polyester film tape with a heavy silicone/rubber adhesive coating that ensures conformability in masking applications for printed circuit board plating processes.
Used to protect printed circuit boards during electroplating operations.
THERMALLY CONDUCTIVE TAPES: 3M™ Thermally Conductive Adhesive Tape 8711 is designed to provide efficient heat transfer between heat-generating components and heat sinks or other cooling devices (e.g., fans, spreaders).
3M™ Thermally Conductive Adhesive Tape 8926 is a pressure-sensitive adhesive tape designed for easy converting, handling, and rework, thanks to the inclusion of a thin PET carrier.
STRUCTURAL ADHESIVE FILMS: The film adhesive (flexible, solid, heat-activated or solvent-activated) is composed of synthetic elastomers and both thermoplastic and thermosetting resins.
WATER CONTACT INDICATOR TAPES: 3M™ Water Contact Indicator Tape 5557 is a tape with a thickness of 259 microns, used to indicate exposure to water.
The tape changes color from white to red upon direct contact with water.
TWO PARTS STRUCTURAL ADHESIVE: 3M™ TC-2810 Thermally Conductive Epoxy Adhesive is a two-part epoxy compound that uses a boron nitride (BN)-based filler to provide good thermal conductivity along with high adhesion.
